Serving the professional development needs of schools, districts, and educators across the U.S. and around the world.
We want to help ensure you receive the proper credit for attending and participating in our professional development events and courses. If you have any questions about receiving credit, please contact SDE's Customer Satisfaction Representatives at 1-800-462-1478 or use our online form.
In any state where educators seek graduate credit rather than CEUs, explore the links for "University Credit" below. Please check with your district for advance approval for graduate or state credit.
Earn State Continuing Education Credit (CEUs)
SDE provides state-approved continuing education credit in most states. Unless not permitted by your state, you may use the "Certificate of Teacher Training" that you will receive upon attendance at every SDE program for verification of contact hours. Contact hours are based on “seat time” where an educator is engaged in learning. Breaks and lunches do not count as contact hours.
Earn University Credit
Madonna University (for Conferences and Seminars)
Madonna University's Professional Development Program is offering graduate credit to participants in the SDE programs. Madonna University is fully accredited by both the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. SDE Conferences and Seminars You may earn 1-6 semester hours of graduate credit (15 contact hours = 1 graduate credit) for attending SDE programs and completing a paper describing how you might apply the knowledge in your work position. For example, if you attend a one-day SDE workshop (generally about 5 contact hours of training), you can add those hours to other PD training to reach the required 15 contact hours for a credit. These credits are non-degree graduate credits which are designed to be used to satisfy the requirements of certificate renewal and salary increase. The tuition is $150 per semester hour. For program specifics, or to register for graduate credit, please refer to www.madonna.edu/pdp or call at 734-432-5697. |
